Crock Pot Chili

1 lb ground beef
1 15 oz can tomato sauce
1/4 cup of water or beef stock
1 15oz can of kidney beans, rinsed
1/2 yellow onion, chopped
1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
1/2 red pepper, chopped
1 tsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp cumin
2-3 Tbsp chili powder
1 tsp red pepper flake or 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
salt and pepper
optional
sour cream
chopped scallions
Fritos or other corn chips
and corn bread

Season ground beef with salt and pepper and brown it in a skillet. Drain the grease. In the meantime in a large crock pot add the remaining ingredients. Add the meat and mix well. Turn pot on high for 3-4 hrs. I serve it will a spoonful of sour cream and chopped scallions,Fritos and corn bread.
This chili is pretty hearty. If you want it more runny add more water, but I wouldn't recommend adding more than a half cup because you get more liquid when cooking in a crock pot.
